Friday Favorites V

Happy Happy Friday!! Loving this Friday because Roarke got home early and is officially on vacation for 2 weeks!! We don’t have anything too fancy planned, just hanging out mostly. We’re hosting a bbq tomorrow and he is running a 5K on Sunday so this weekend will be busy for sure! Anywho, time for Friday Favorites!!
Amazon baby registry:

Amazon-Baby-Registry1

With us living so far away from family it is nice to be able to create an online registry that is easy for family to access and has everything! I love being able to add and remove things as I please without having to go to the store and use one of those confusing scanners! Amazon FTW!

A boy and his dog:

photo (42)

I love watching B and Odin interact with one another. You can see the love between them and Odin is for sure B’s dog. Roarke was joking the other day that we will have to get a second dog when Baby O comes around so that he can have his own dog. I laughed it off but now I’m starting to think he might be right!

American Eagle Sandals:

w_sandalsandflipflops

I bought a pair of dark leather American Eagle flip flops on sale last fall and I have been living in them all spring and summer! They are super comfy and cute and go with basically everything! I couldn’t find the ones I specifically have because they were last season but you can find a similar pair here.
Extra Wide Head Bands:

I don’t spend a lot of time on my hair. Sometimes I do but it’s really never been my thing. I love having a versatile style that keeps the fly aways tame and still looks cute! I’m loving these extra wide headbands from Scunci, they are great for working out and for everyday wear!!
Coffee iced cubes:

photo (43)

Holy Revolutionary! I read about these over on Carrots ‘N’ Cake and Tina raved about how coffee iced cubes changed the way she drank iced coffee and I couldn’t agree more! It keeps it cold without watering it down and you get an extra little boost of caffeine while you’re sipping!

Have a fantastic weekend!!!

Friday Favorites IV

It’s Friday again and we are off to a sleepy start. It is really hard to adjust to sleeping with someone in the bed after not having them in the bed for three weeks! Especially with as crowded as our bed already is with the dog and most of the time B. But I digress, time for Friday Favorites!

Coconut Water:

 photo (39)

I am not a banana eater. My digestive system cant handle them and they always make me feel gross. I love the taste of coconut water and I love the pack of potassium that it provides! I could drink that stuff all day!

EOS Lip Balm:

 EOS Lip Balm

I seriously own like 10 million of these and they are stashed all over the house! They are such a great lip moisturizer and come in all sorts of great flavors! I also like that they are mildly kid proof because you have to turn the lid to get the top off rather than just a normal pull top that kids like to make a mess with.

Having Daddy Home:

 photo (40)

Watching B interact with Roarke last night when he got home was so much fun! He missed his daddy so much and was glued to him all night!

Maxi Skirts:

 img-thing

I’ve been loving the idea of maxi skirts. I haven’t purchased one yet but some of the clothes from earlier in my pregnancy aren’t fitting anymore so I might just have to make that leap. I really love the selection at Target.

I am down to drinking only one cup of coffee a day which is really shocking to me but somehow it randomly happened. If I miss that cup of coffee though, look out! I need that boost first thing in the morning and forget about trying to have a productive conversation with me until after it’s at least half way gone!

Hope you have a Fantastic Friday! Roarke gets today off work so we are just having a relaxing morning!

Friday Favorites III

Friday! Friday! It’s weird how even when you are a stay at home mom you get excited about Fridays. It’s something about them that is more exciting than all the other days of the week. Even if there is nothing major planned for the weekend, they are just more special! Anywho, time for Friday Favorites!

Splash Parks:

photo (19)

This week it has been so crazy stinking hot!! I’m seriously loving the splash park for B as well as for me! We head over there after play group or a long walk and B has a total blast! I also get to cool off which is really nice! We also went to the lake this week which was a ton of fun. Basically just loving anything water related right now! Stay cool!

Shower curtains as curtains:

We don’t have fancy curtains in our house. We have some hand me downs from my mom in the living room and other than that we are rocking just blinds and in our bedroom, blankets tacked over them (shameful I know)! Now that I have a sewing machine (yay) I have been planning my curtain projects! You can buy a cloth shower curtain for $20, cut it in half lengthwise, fold and pin the ragged edge and do a quick stitch and BAM! you’ve got yourself an adorable set of curtains! This is the one I just got for the bedroom from Target. Say sayonara to those ugly blankets!!

Some days I feel like I fail epically as a mother. Whether it’s B throwing a crazy tantrum in a store while I’m experiencing hanger so I get mad at him or the fact that he subsisted for a day on a million frozen waffles and a mini pizza, being a mom is hard work. And every new baby just adds a new layer of uncertainty so you’re never really a “pro”. There is no right way or wrong way to parent (exceptions being of course beating your children or not feeding them etc.) Your children think the world of you so just do your best to stay calm and give them as many positive examples of how to act as respectful, intelligent human beings and I say you’ve got a win on your hands!

Weekly meal prep:

photo (24)

Last night I prepped a bunch of lunches for the week while making dinner. Over the course of an hour I managed to put together 4 lunches in portioned containers, make dinner which will last for 2 meals so there were leftovers, and have extra lunch prep sides that will be part of dinner later in the week. I bought Ziploc portion containers and they are awesome! I grilled pork chops and bbq chicken and then roasted some sweet potatoes, made some quinoa and steamed broccoli and green beans! If you take a few minutes to plan out your eating week and then execute prep accordingly, you can save big at the grocery store as well as having no brainer healthy meals to eat all week which takes the guessing game out of it and doesn’t leave room for unhealthy slips because there are no excuses to not eat the healthy meal that is already prepped and ready to pop in the microwave for a minute.

Pinteresting tattoo ideas:

photo (6)

Roarke totally planted seeds in my brain! He recently got his own pinterest account and spends his time looking at tattoo ideas, guns and camping stuff. I have quite a few tattoos already (6) and some of them are bigger pieces (cherry blossom tree covering my whole right side). Roarke has a few and definitely wants more. Now that I’ve kind of switched gears on my thoughts for a career, there are really no restrictions on what I can and can’t get for tattoos. I really want to get a tattoo for B and now that we have baby O on the way, I’ve been planning my tattoo that will incorporate something for both boys in the same piece. I’m really excited about it and want baby O to get here already so I can go get inked up!! I’m going to be one hot tattoo’d mama!!

Hope you’re having a fantastic Friday so far! It’s pretty gray here today so probably more sewing on the horizon today! When I get the curtains hung I’ll be sure to share a picture!

Friday Favorites II

Happy Friday! I had fun last week sharing a few things that I’ve been loving lately so I figured I might as well keep the trend rolling!

Fitness Magazine Subscription:

photo (10)

I totally love getting my fitness magazines every month! Even though I’ve been serious lacking in the fitness department this pregnancy, it s motivating the heck out of me to plan for post-baby body and to at least make some sort of effort to exercise every once in a while!

These Chocolates:

photo (12)

I gave these bad boys a shot thanks to Janae over at The Hungry Runner Girl. They did not disappoint! Brookside has a ton of different flavors to try including blueberry which I want to try next!

My New Sewing Machine:

photo (11)

I had to run out and buy myself a new sewing machine yesterday, my first sewing machine to be more specific! I’ve always loved sewing and used to use my moms a lot but never had my own. Now that I live 1800 miles away from my mom it makes it a bit more difficult to borrow things! When I had a mending emergency yesterday I decided to break down and buy one! I am so excited to start projecting!

This Song:

photo (5)

I heard this song Empire by Shakira on the radio last week and couldn’t get it out of my head! It was one of those songs that you fall in love with instantly and want to listen to on repeat for hours!

Baby Showers:

images (12)

My friend is having a baby boy in late June and is having her shower this afternoon! I super excited for it! I love buying adorable little boy clothes and it makes me more excited for Baby O to get here! Hope you are having a Fantastic Friday!!

Friday Favorites

I’ve seen quite a few fellow bloggers posting about products, activities and other random things they have been loving over the course of the week, figured it would be fun to try out the trend!

Jamba Juice:

photo (2)

I’ve just discovered that they sell two different types of Jamba Juice at Target and tried out the strawberry flavor yesterday! I was pleasantly surprised by how tasty it was! It wasn’t too sweet and was nice and slushy and cold! Very similar to the smoothies I make at home but without the work! I’m sure if I looked at the ingredients list I would be less impressed so I’ll just pretend!

Honey Roasted Sunflower Kernels:

photo (1)

These bad boys have been on sale at Aldi and I actually think I might have an addiction. I could (and might have) eat an entire bag in one sitting!

4 Day Weekends:

images (11)

The Hubs has a 4 day weekend that started today and we have so much fun stuff planned! I love being able to soak up so much time with my little family!

Summer S’mores and Campfires:

Summer is upon us in Oklahoma and I love being able to eat outside, BBQ and sit around a backyard campfire!

Vikings and Burn Notice:

These are the shows we have been addicted to lately. We’ve been Netflixing every past season of Burn Notice and are downloading current episodes of Vikings Season 2 on our Play Station! Both are action packed and fantastic!

Hope you have a fantastic Friday and holiday weekend!
